Doris Stokes Memorial Church and Healing Association
The Doris Stokes Memorial Church and Healing Association is inviting churches and groups of people who follow the Spiritualist way of life, and want to feel themselves part of the Spiritualist movement without restrictive and unnecessary rules and regulations, to operate under its umbrella in order to experience fellowship and love of Spirit more fully in the company of like minds.
Founded in memory of a great pioneering medium who raised the public profile of mediumship and by association, the Spiritualist movement, and who we know continues to labour in that cause from Spirit, the Doris Stokes Memorial Church and Healing Association offers mediumship and healing insurance, and mediumship, healing and ministry courses, that can be undertaken by an individual or group.
Six churches in Scotland and England have linked up under the Doris Stokes umbrella so far. The President of the Doris Stokes Memorial CHA is Spiritualist Minister, Rev. Lyn Guest de Swarte, who has also accepted the Presidency of the Scottish Spiritualist Federation.
The members of those progressive spiritual groups are already looking forward to the first ‘get-together; in the summer of 2009. This will take the form of a movable conference with spiritual speakers, debate on issues that concern us all, and an evening party.
The Doris Stokes Memorial Church and Healing Association is with the Independent Spiritualist Association UK, another 21st century new initiative. The ISA is the realisation of those old Spiritualist Principles with liberty of interpretation – plus one all encompassing Principle – Love one another. NO other rules. NO other regulations. NO dress codes. NO religious dictat. NO Dogma.

Policy SummaryAn Address From the Minister of The Doris Stokes Memorial Church and Independent Spiritual Association
We know that we are not here by chance. We know that we have been placed here on the earth at this time to establish a spiritual balance that is manifestly lacking. We know that we are none of us on our own, but that we are connected both with each other here now, and with all those purveyors of the same spiritual truths who have been here before.
We know that it is because of a general lack of spiritual awareness that the physical world is in a dreadful state and that a very small number of human beings live in material comfort, the vast majority only experiencing a daily struggle for subsistence. This situation exists in every country on every continent on a steeply sliding scale, with the world’s inhabitants varying from those few enjoying a reasonably long life of luxurious plenty, to the premature death from starvation and or preventable, treatable disease for the many.
The Spiritualist belief in life after death – expressed as an affirmation that the existence and personal identity of the individual continues after the change called death and communication with the so-called dead scientifically proved by the phenomena of Spiritualism demonstrated by its exponents – mediums and healers; has a message for this world that for too long has gone unheeded.
